Game Over is a song that I’ve had for a while in various forms, the lyrics were re-written this year around a fleeting feeling I’ve experienced at points in life, the notion that if something has gone wrong, I’ll fix it next time. Obviously this isn’t always an option, have I damaged my brain playing video games, who knows? I’ve not got time to find out.

It seemed an obvious choice to make a video for, I’m no professional animator (see video for proof) so it’s been a learning on the job project, big dreams, tapered down to achievable goal. It’s supposed to be a bit of fun, a homage to some of the games I enjoyed growing up with a vague narrative plot.

I hope if you’ve watched it, you’ve enjoyed it.
<![CDATA[An introduction...]]>Tue, 30 Oct 2018 06:10:42 GMThttp://eeesmashing.com/newsblog/who-are-eee-smashingWho are Eee Smashing?
My name is Andy, Eee Smashing is me, at present. I live in the North East of England, I am in my early 30s, I used to play bass in a couple of bands around the North East many moons ago, if you remember one of those bands, this is a solo comeback of sorts… you won’t remember any of those bands.
My friend Matt played guitar on two of the songs on the album for me, which was a huge help.
Why a band name?
New album, ‘Shirts’ is just the beginning, in a way it’s a clearing of the decks of some songs I had written over the previous decade. I’m looking forward to a more collaborative way of working on future albums with musical friends, hey, they may even become bandmates.
Why an album?
I’ve been writing songs since I was in my teens, after failing to get around to forming a band or get the songs ‘out there’ another way in my 20s, the arrival of my 30s came as a jolt to do something about it.
Given the number of songs I was sitting on that I was proud of and my personal preference for the LP format, an album was the only choice.
Where can I hear the album?
‘Shirts’ is released on 2nd November on digital platforms including Bandcamp, Spotify, Amazon Music and iTunes.
Physical CD-R’s will be available on Bandcamp around this date, like everything else to do with the album, these will be a DIY production, I’m currently finishing up the artwork and sleeve construction be sure to follow on social media platforms to hear about these first.
Where can I see you live?
At present, Eee Smashing, exists as a writing and recording project, I wouldn’t advise to hold your breath but any future live date news will be posted on the website and social media.]]>
